Mh, that's weird. I just made a screenshot from episode 2, you should see what I mean, it happens literally every few seconds The soldier, Miras and Seras coat and the people in the background Right... the shimmering effect, I think its a bug and not the style itself. I don't think it shows up in episode 4 or 5, and you eventually stop noticing it. It is a bit annoying and distracting, i'll give you that.

I still don't get it. I'm no graphic whore and I think the graphic fits for GOT but this just doesn't look normal to me, no matter how hard I try. Is there really nobody who knows what I mean? XD

I did. Didn't see anything. I still don't. So you are saying that all these jagged things I marked in red are normal? I don't understand. Sometimes their cloak looks normal and sometimes it's jagged. If this is the art style, why does the rest of their bodies doesn't look like that? I'm confused Yes, that is completely normal. This is what a watercolor painting looks like.

Either I got used to it and began to ignore it, or Telltale decided to clean up the outlines due to complaints.

You could use CCC or the thing Nvidia has to finetune some settings. I'm almost through episode 2, if it doesn't look better in episode 3 I'll do that. Thanks

Yeah I cannot recall it happening in episode 4 or 5, I am going to give them the benifit of the doubt and say they fixed it, but it very well could be just tolerance.

And hey, maybe I can finally decide what I want Royland and Duncan's fates to be for Season Two.

And hey, maybe I can finally decide what I want Royland and Duncan's fates to be for Season Two. Great idea. I'm playing TFTBL and you get GOT. We should both do TWDS1 and 2.

Right, finished replaying Episode 1
It didn't hold up as well as I thought it would
So, first thing's first, the dialogue is just... super choppy. Almost none of it flows naturally. Even early on, with Bowen awkwardly reminding Gared about the wine and getting the choice to thank him, or if you say "no problem" to helping Bowen how he still has to like... say something about it. Another great example of this: after you judge Erik. Nothing about the subsequent conversations with people work if you showed mercy because everyone initially acts like you did something horribly, then there's an awkward *snap* and they deliver one line about the choice you made, and then they *snap* back and act as if you did something horrible. There's also an awful lot of awkward exposition that isn't handled terribly well. Just, people acting less like people, and more like vessels for moving forward plot points. A lot of moments where you're prompted to say something by another character or reminded of something, and it all feels a bit like dialogue with the training wheels on.
There's also not a whole lot of personality in the dialogue, with the exceptions of Talia and... Ludd, I guess? (also excluding all the TV characters, who, btw, are more present than I remember them being) Even characters like Duncan and Royland, who do a well enough job of conveying their personality through dialogue, we have to be explicitly told over and over that Duncan is diplomatic and Royland is aggressive. The small council scene is legitimately the worst scene of the entire episode because no one acts like a real human being and it's just ridiculous to see these two grown men bickering because the game doesn't trust you to be able to discern more subtle dialogue setting up their differences and disagreements.
And it's awfully slow, too. Just, everything feels a bit overlong and like it's dragging its feet getting to the point. I want to say there was a better way to do the hub at Ironrath with Ethan - because it honestly feels a bit like a chore talking to everyone - but I guess it's necessary. So, maybe that's less of a design thing and more of a conceptual thing for the episode overall.
Not to say I don't like the episode anymore, I still think it's good, it was just... a bit of a shock to find I liked it so much less this time around.
I think, having revisited it, I'd now give it a 7/10. Good, but not great.
Hopefully this isn't my experience with the rest of the season...
