Don't know about the books, but in the game, I liked that tough love he was giving Artyom. When we got separated on the surfaced, I got nervous. He had lots of experience and I still didn't know much, so I wanted him to watch my back up there. He also had some good lines. I wish he lived a bit longer, just to see him interact with Khan. Except that Kamikaze stupid shit, I also liked Miller. hee choose to help Artyom, even after the others decided not to, that's saying a lot 'bout him. I never used up more ammo on just one demon, than on the one attacking Miller. I thought Miller was pretty cool as well. He was the leader of the Rangers. In fact, he's one of the few people in the game who remembers the surface before the war. His backstory or something said that he was in the army back when Russia was still the Soviet Union. Now you have to be a badass to be that old and still survive in the Metro. Also the way he kept getting pissed at Ulman's jokes was hilarious, almost as funny as the jokes themselves. I remember being terrified that he'd die from his wounds after the demon attacked him. Metro has some great characters. I actually didn't know about Miller's backstory, that makes him even more badass. He had some great dialogues with Ulman, that's true. The character I would like to see more of in 2033 is Hunter. He should've gottens ome more screen time before going into the unknown, he seemed like a cool guy. Might as well post this here, which is a song based on Metro LL. Yeah, I know this. Guy who made it is really good, I'm subscribing his channel. I wish Artyom would talk in game rather than the just in loading screens, the one sided conversations people have with you can be a bit weird. Sometimes it works alright for the game, if he doesn't talk. But he really should've talked at least sometimes, to avoid the awkardness. Ulman: Good to see you, just where is Pavel? Artyom:... Ulman: K, we'll talk about it later

Artyom atually does speak a single line of dialogue during gameplay in 2033. Right after Pavel (Ulman's partner, the guy who rides with you on the railcart through the depot crawling with nosalises) is killed (Killed like a badass, I might add) and the cart is about to fall on Artyom, he says "Fuck" in a funny way.
Speaking of Ulman (We cannot do that enough) his intro was epic. I liked him from the moment I saw him.

Yeah, Ulman and Pavel had badass introduction. Pavel also got a badass death, but Ulman didn't have to, thankfully. I liked him for saving my ass already, but then he started saying his amazing lines, and became my favourite character.
The book series has like milion spin-offs. There better be one about Ulman.

One of Ulman's best lines:
Ranger: "Halt! Who are you!" *Lasers appear out of the darkness and settle directly on Artyom and Ulman*
Ulman: "We're Nazis, come to take your station."
The guy's balls are bigger than the railcar they were sitting in.

Anyone know what the Metro 2034 book is about? Because apparently 2035 will be about LL.

Ulman keeps things light no matter what situation he's in. That's a very admirable and very human trait. Coupled with being a decent person, and an all around badass? He's a character after my own heart. Wow, this thread has turned from Metro 2033 Discussion to giving Ulman a verbal blowjob.

I considered going for the achievement, but after how many shots that one that attacked Miller took, I'm glad I didn't.

So apparently there is a redux version of both 2033 and Last Light on Steam, and they even come in a pack together. Apparently apparently the redux version of Last Light comes with all the DLC. Did not know this.I suddenly have an itch to buy.

I saw gameplay of 2033 redux, and goddamnit, the redux has Artyom's voice actor from LL. It wasn't a big deal for me though. It'll be annoying at most once I get it. Also brotato I read that one of the DLCs for LL, the Chronicles Pack, features Ulman as a major character for one of its missions. Can't confirm 100% because I wanted to avoid spoilers, though.
