Now when I first saw TMNT, it was the 2003 series. My 5 year old self was a big fan of the series, and I continued to watch it till they took it off Cartoon Network around 2008. Over time though I learned about a 1987 show prior to the 2003 one, and even though I haven't seen a single episode of it as of today, I'm somewhat well versed in its lore. IMO though, the 2012 series is my favorite; it's got the humor and radical personalities from the 1987 series with the dark action packed moments of the 2003 series. It's also got an all star cast of VA's with Mae Whitman (Katarra from Avatar the Last Airbender) voicing April, Rob Paulsen (Raphael in the 1987 series) voicing Donatello, Josh Peck (Drake and Josh) voicing Casey Jones, and Seth Green voicing Leonardo as of the Season 2 finale. For those of who who've watched the 2012 series, I've included the Season 2 finale below. Spoilers of course.

2003 is my favourite. It's the one I grew up with. It's also when this happened...

You ever see the 2011 movie with both the 2003 and 1987 turtles? I remember seeing it like a couple months before the 2012 series started, and that was pretty good.

The 2003 one was my favourite, without a question. I loved this show. I remember getting up at 6am just to watch the new episode.

So season 3's already in it's 3rd episode. So far so good! For all you fans of the 2003 series, remember that big blonde dude Hun? Well he's coming back, but he'll be getting an entire new look, being more of a Bruce Lee ripoff. Also fun fact, did you know Nolan North (Nathan Drake from Uncharted, Richtofen in COD Zombies, and David in The Last of Us) voiced Rapheal in the 2003 series and the 2007 movie?
Here's the NYCC 2014 panel of the series, which I can say I was a proud participant of.

More clips that a visitor was able to record (These were not made available outside the screening. Props for this person to get these without being caught!)

I grew up with several video tapes of the original show, and I loved it. Other than that, never really cared for the other iterations of the show. The only TMNT that I like now is the old live action movie. That was pretty goddamned good. I loved Casey Jones' very casual murder in a children's movie.

One of my greatest childhood mysteries was wondering how Shredder was able to survive going through a garbage compactor like that.

I actually didn't see TMNT2 until I was 15, so the magic was long gone.

So umm...IDW decided to pick up TMNT and make a darker, alternate reality version of the 2012 series aback in 2013. Issue 44 just came out last week (With the series planning to end at #50, and the ending of this was just...Fuck...
