Also, King is now praising the movie and working on it with Josh Boone. Guess he must have changed his mind.

Well I know this has nothing to do with The Stand, but Nostalgia Critic's latest review is of Maximum Overdrive, the only King movie directed by King.

Well, so much for that "single movie" thing, The Stand is now being adapted into four separate movies, all more or less 3 hours long, and with stacks upon stacks of cash. Apparently what happened was that Warner Bros. gave Josh Boone $87 million for the one movie, and King was immediately skeptical, one movie for his 1000+ page epic. And then, Boone finished the script for the first movie, and everyone was blown away, Warner Bros. wanted to make it four movies, and basically gave him all the money he could ever want, and King's sudden reversal of his attitude towards it is also due to ho fantastic the script was for the first part. Still no Matthew McConaughey for Randall Flagg though. :/ comicbook.com/2014/11/21/stephen-kings-the-stand-will-be-four-separate-movies/

I severely doubt it's gonna be as good as the original.

I severely doubt it's gonna be as good as the original. As the original meaning the book? No, probably not. Meaning the mini-series? Well, King himself, who wrote the mini-series, after reading the script, said that it has the potential to be better than the mini-series, which isn't surprising, considering for all the mini-series does right, it does a hell of a lot wrong, so it wouldn't be too hard to beat. Also, if they get McConaughey to play Flagg, then that's a big advantage. Gary Sinese as Stu was fantastic in the mini-series. Unfortunately, almost everyone else was fucking awful. The guy who played Larry was good, and the guy who played Tom was fucking perfect. But 3 characters out of the massive cast in The Stand, again, isn't much.

Apparently the guy who directed Season One of True Detective is working on a remake for It. I never watched the original, but I heard that it's pretty awful.
