I like Hell on Wheels. I think it's entertaining and in a lot of ways they have even more balls than the Walking Dead writers...
But holy fuck do I hate them for how they killed Elam. Well it's better to have some balls compared to none, oh and season 4 is actually pretty great.

It was just a terrible way to write out his character. Oooooh, Hell on Wheels is an unforgiving place where civility and humanity don't exist... fine. But there comes a point where Cullen has suffered enough. It was a perfectly acceptable way for Elam to go out when we were all led to believe he died trying to go after his friend. That weighed enough on Cullen's conscience. Brainwashed by Indians is so over-the-top and I don't think it suited a tough guy like Elam at all. It gave a beloved character a villain's exit. There's already enough to hate in the show. Now (and keep in mind I don't know how episodes 9 or 10 play out yet) all that's left is Cullen. Eva hates him. Psalms hates him. So, by extension, I'm forced to hate those two for hating Cullen. Oh, and kill the fucking Swede already. Mother fucker should have died at the end of season 2. He ran his course about a billion years ago. If Joesph Dutson's son doesn't end up killing him, I might throw a chair through my TV.

Well then, your going to love episode 9 and 10, also it wasn't technically brainwashing as brain fucked up by bear.

Also, the next few episodes after "Elam Ferguson" are really awesome.

This show is relentless. Killing off Ezra... just... brutal. More fearless than Walking Dead, definitely. Season 5 is the final season.

Oh yeah, I was going to say that, yeah, they are splitting season 5 like Breaking Bad, one half a summer, the next summer the other half, oh and, ah, great episode yesterday, but my god was it violent, like, Walking Dead violent.

That was way past Walking Dead violent. In fact, that is probably the most violent thing I've ever seen on TV, and that being with having watched all of Game of Thrones, all of Walking Dead, 5 episodes of True Detective, and a Season and some episodes of Hemlock Grove. So let's see, we got to see them digging around in Sidney's chest, then they cut his leg off, a multiple stage process, first with Durant making all sorts of cuts with that dull little knife, then Cullen sawing. And then, we get to see the leg still twitching once it's off. That was fucked up.
And then we have *shudders* "Dandy" Shea Johnny(that was his name, right?) And... Uh.... Yeah.... I don't think I need to go over what he did.

So... Wow, that was a great episode yesterday. Still, fuck this show for killing all my favorites, but regardless, it's awesome. I liked all the comparisons of who the characters are using Cullen as a center point. Sidney wonders what becomes of men like him and Cullen, Cullen asks Durant what will happen to men like them, and Campbell tells Cullen what becomes of men like them. I liked how that went on through the episode.
I really liked the flashbacks to Bleeding Kansas, and I now feel more justified in having Reverend Cole up in the poll as a villain. It lets us know more about Ruth, and allows the comparison to be drawn to what Ruth did compared to what Cole did, both during Bleeding Kansas and Season 2 in the show. Also, this episode and the last has basically turned around my opinion of Ruth.
Eva mentions Elam, I don't think killing him in this Season was pointless, just kind of an extension of the pain all the other characters had felt previously over his "death". And that now leads to whatever is going on between Eva and Cullen.
I have no doubts that Ruth is probably going to hang. This show just goes for the most direct, and painful, path, and Ruth hanging is that path.
And of course, now this, "Dandy" guy................ Uh...... Yeah.... Him. I don't want to talk about him.

It kind of feels like the show wanted to maintain the balance of villains. One dies, and then that fucking guy comes. I wonder what exactly Mickey's plan is in bringing them to Cheyenne.....

:/ I had his name backwards, Dandy Johnny Shea.
Anyway, I'm adding him to the villain poll. Because, ther'es no way he's going to turn out to be an alright guy after.... that.
Actually, I'll just do a favorite character poll.

Very good point, and I honestly do kind of expect them to kill off yet another character, they have proven that they have the balls, and it kinda scares me, oh and yeah I am not shocked Snow had to go, but I almost kinda sorta feel bad for the guy, mostly because they put him through so much to end up still dying, but also because, man was he a ton of fun! Seriously, such a great character, sad to see him go, even though he was a bastard!

Yeah, Sidney was a very "fun" villain, it was awesome to see him on screen, I'm really going to miss him, odd as it sounds. This Dandy guy is just.... No. Fucking no.
