Coldbrook by Tim Lebbon is a pretty good book that I recently finished reading. Sci-fi Horror about zombies a.k.a Furies. Basically, this group of scientists in the Coldbrook facility open a door to another world, zombies comes through, chaos ensues. It's very well written with some fantastic characters throughout, and the science fiction part is very interesting. I'd highly recommend this book.

Jonah Jones, a Welsh scientists, is in charge of the Coldbrook facility. Eventually, they make a breach into another Earth that they call Gaia, but everything goes wrong when a walking corpse called a Fury makes it's way through the breach. Vic Pearson, an engineer, escapes the facility, and with him, several Furies, causing an epidemic, that soon becomes apocalyptic. Another scientist, Holly, goes through the breach, finding that there is another Coldbrook facility where the last few survivors remain. They also made a breach into another infected world 40 years ago, and that's when their world ended. Jonah slowly begins to go insane inside the facility, and an immune person is soon found by Vic and Mark, who are trying to stop the Furies. Basically, it keeps switching between this different characters, telling a story of Survival(the immune girl and later, an FBI agent named Sean), along with another story about multiple worlds(Holly, later someone form Gaia named Drake, and Jonah). And then Vic and Mark, who are somewhere in between those two stories.
